Jarvis Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to benefit a youth bowler in the
  Spokane County area. It was created by the Jarvis family with
       the intent to honor both bowling and academic achievement        
 annually. Active supporters of the sport for many decades,    
  the Jarvis family also holds further education in high esteem. 
                                    


Guidelines For Scholarship Applicants

Qualifications
Applicant must be:

1.    A graduating high school senior the year that the application
               is made and must have sufficient academic record to be accepted
       by an accredited college, junior college or vocational school.

 2.    An active member of an organized bowling league in              
 Spokane County.                                                                

Selection Criteria

  1.    Recipient may attend any institution of higher learning of his/her choice.  
2.    Scholarships awarded shall be applied to tuition and fees.                        
3.    When scholarship holder has designated a school of choice,                    
    arrangements shall be made to transfer the scholarship amount to the  
 appropriate school official.                                                                  
4.    In the event that a scholarship holder is not enrolled in an accredited      
     institution within one year from October 1st of the year that the            
scholarship is awarded, it will be voided.                                            
5.    In the event a scholarship holder discontinues schooling before all funds
       have been utilized, the institution will be requested to return any unused
portion to the Jarvis Memorial Scholarship Fund.                               
   6.    Scholarship information will be sent to bowling proprietors, High Schools  
and the USBC association in Spokane County.                                   
 7.    The Scholarship committee shall meet following the close of the              
application period to review applications and make selection of the  
  recipient prior to June 1st.                                                                     
8.    Notification of scholarship award shall be sent to the recipient, with       
copies to the local USBC association and other media deemed          
  appropriate by the committee.                                                              
9.    The scholarship shall be presented by members of the scholarship
